Project overview
My idea is to look at web design trends and how they've changed over the years.
Areas to cover include:
- how web design relates to general theories of design and art
- Changes to design trends due to technology (e.g. browser compatibility, CMS, hardware changes, new types of device...)
- what different web design styles exist and what inspires them

- begin with general research to form an initial opinion
- locate sites where discussion takes place
- post opinions/discussion items & participate in existing discussions
- use own blog (currently in development) to publish research
What is to be assessed (outline the deliverables – what you are going to produce)
The following items will be produced:
- Report (Word/PDF) documenting evidence of discussion (including links to sites)
- series of blog articles about the major web design styles
- article on how technology has changed/is changing web design
- article on how web design relates to/applies general theories of design and art
All 4 items will be presented in an HTML interface on a CD-ROM. Items 2, 3, and 4 will also be published on my blog.
